  • Trailer Park

Tonight be the Trailer Park Dinner.

Little happens in Huron, SD, so we tend to make things happen.

Tonight we celebrated the birthday of Mother Hofer, and to recognize this most momentous event we had a Trailer Park dinner at the Hofer compound.

Mother Hofer was crowned Double Wide Diva.  Ya had to be there.

    For the event I made:

    White Trash Shepherd’s Pie…and

    Spamloaf.

    I am soooooooooooooooooooooo ashamed.

But not really.  Cuz I just be a trailer park kinda guy.

    In Sterling…of course.

  • *hangs head* Oh, doc…

  • I’d pull up a chair for some of your white trash pie…

  • I shudder to think what Spamloaf must taste like. *bleh*

  • That is horrible! I’ve never lived in a trailer, but I did spend a year teaching in one. I wonder how they got to be the epitome of trash?

  • I got a car in high school – Chevy Corsica. Someone hit me and totaled it right after I got it.
I got another one in high school – Ford Tempo. I rocked that thing out.
I gave it to my sister when I went to college because freshmen can’t bring their cars.
I got it back when I got a full-time job in 2006. I gave it back to my sister after her car went kaput and I’d started going to school full-time again. I didn’t need it when I was flight attending in 2007 because.. well, I was flying everywhere, and I lived in Atlanta, and ATL has wonderful mass transit.
I got that Tempo back when my mom got a new car and my sister got her car. My car lasted until 2008. In June, the engine seals went goodbye. I left my car parked in a street sweeping zone, and my parents donated it to the city instead of helping me pay to get the seals fixed.
I live 1 block from campus, and I got a wonderful job on campus (which operates its own bus system), so I’ve not really had a need for a car.. yet.
But if I want to build credit, it’d be a great place to start, eh?
